Job Responsibilities
- Develop and review Life of Mine (LOM) Plans to ensure optimal reserve utilization and sustainable mining operations.
- Ensure that pit optimization, mine design, and long-term mine scheduling are aligned with applicable technical and economic parameters.
- Review reserves estimation and support the resource-to-reserve conversion process.
- Prepare mine planning documentation and reserve estimation reports.
- Evaluate and ensure that mine designs, financial analyses, and long-term planning options generate value for the company and subsidiaries.
- Conduct mine economic analysis and strategic scenario evaluations to maximize project value.
- Provide technical support to site mine planning teams as required.
- Support the preparation of Feasibility Studies for mine development projects.
- Coordinate with geology, geotechnical, and operations teams to ensure integration of technical data in long-term planning.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the mining industry, particularly in Strategic Mine Planning or Long-Term Mine Planning.
- Proficiency in mine planning software such as Minescape, Deswik, Spry Scheduler, XPAC, or similar software.
- Experience using pit optimization and mine scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of mine economics and reserves reporting standards such as JORC Code or KCMI Code.
- Good analytical skills, strategic thinking, and cross-functional communication abilities.
- Professional Engineer certification and STRI registration are preferred.
- Willing to travel to all sites if necessary.
